CrossOver / Whisky
Separate bottle issues from Mac session issues.
Compatibility-layer gaming can stutter for many reasons. CloudBoost PRO focuses on local macOS pressure and session context without modifying your bottle.
Four different causes can look the same
- macOS pressure: heat, Low Power Mode, memory pressure or background processes.
- Shader compilation: a first-use hitch after an update, new map or new effect.
- Translation: Rosetta, Wine, D3DMetal or DXVK work around code and graphics APIs.
- Game engine: asset streaming, frame-time spikes or an unsupported anti-cheat path.
CloudBoost can measure the first category and provide context around the others. It cannot directly inspect shader compilation or renderer frame time.
Good checks before changing bottle settings
- Confirm Low Power Mode is off while plugged in.
- Check thermal pressure after the game has been running for a while.
- Close launchers, browser tabs, sync tools and capture tools while testing.
- Use Session Proof when asking for support so people can see the local context.
Important limit
CloudBoost does not edit CrossOver bottles, install patches, bypass anti-cheat or claim compatibility fixes. It helps diagnose the Mac session around the game.
If Session Lab reports clean Mac-side signals, change one compatibility option at a time and reproduce the same scene before comparing results.
