Steam Link on Mac

Local streaming still depends on the Mac receiving side.

Steam Link can stutter when the host is busy, the LAN path is noisy, Wi-Fi/AWDL interrupts the Mac, or background tasks wake during a stream.

What to check first

  • Use wired Ethernet for the host PC when possible.
  • Test the Mac on Ethernet or close to the router.
  • Disable VPN for LAN streaming unless it is required.
  • Check host CPU/GPU load separately from Mac-side pressure.
  • Watch jitter, not just average ping.
